It’s a chapter about the angels descending to drive back a squad of Humen Hypers, who have come with their transport machine to collect Miriael and take her off to their Camp for dissection and analysis. Miriael is the damaged angel who fell to Earth; at this point she’s chained to a wall in the settlement of Ferren’s tribe, who call themselves the People. Ferren isn’t there right now, but Neath and Zonda are – the leader of the tribe with his daughter.
